Advocates with Friends of the Salt River Wild Horses say over 70 requests for a meeting have gone unanswered according to a story by Arizona Free News.
The first roundup, to be effected by the Salt River Wild Horse Darting Group, begins in September.
Almost certainly, mares with faulty immune systems, who defy the mass sterilization program and bring great embarrassment to the advocates, will be a top priority.
The report said the population goal of 120 could pose long-term genetic concerns but was silent about the darting program that has sterilized the mares, destroyed the breeding population and halted genetic mixing.
How much longer will the ruse continue?
Six months ago the herd numbered 274. Now it’s 269.
The only way to stop the decline is to bring in mares from other areas and confine the advocates to their base properties.
