Grazing Regulation Overhaul to Codify American Prairie Decision

The BLM will add production-oriented livestock, including a definition thereof, to Part 4100 of Title 43 according to a notice in the Federal Register dated May 12.

Permits issued under section 4130.2 would only be valid for the production of meat, milk or fiber and would include any animals used in support of such operations, such as horses for moving cattle.

Describing the proposed change as a limitation, the agency “is seeking to head off suggestions that grazing permits may be appropriate for other purposes, including preservation or conservation.”

The revamp, promulgated by an unelected bureaucracy, would mean no more Mustang Monuments or Wild Horse Refuges if approved.

Western Horse Watchers opposes the restriction.

Comments are due by July 13.
