Foal-Free Friday, Point of No Return Edition

With the darting program now in its sixth year, presumably, many of the Virginia Range mares are now at risk of sterility.

The dwindling breeding population will not be able to keep up with deaths and the herd will implode, just like Assateague Island.

This is the promise of nonmotorized removal, the final solution.

  1. I don’t know if it’s important but…I live off the USA Parkway in the industrial park. This year, I’ve observed approximately 300 horses since January – and three foals.

Spotted about a month ago, they weren’t more than a few days to two weeks old.

I’ve been here for four years and in that entire time, I have seen 26 foals. And a thousand adults.

    It’s unnatural.
